Delta resident, Alvin R. Pfifer passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at his home in Delta, Colorado. He was 80 years old.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta, CO with Bishop Morgan Yost officiating. Burial will follow in the Delta City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. May 26, 2020 at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel Delta, CO.
Alvin Raymond Pfifer was born October 30, 1939 to John Nicholas and Hazel Lucile (Newton) Pfifer in Delta, Colorado. He spent his childhood and attended schools in Delta, graduating from Delta High School with the class of 1958.
On May 25, 1959 Alvin married Shirley Louise Johnson in Twin Falls, Idaho. To this union four daughters were born. The couple shared twelve years of marriage before Shirley passed away on April 13, 1972.
Alvin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Delta, Colorado. He served as past president of Bona Fide Ditch. He loved farming and John Deere tractors and enjoyed coaching ladies softball, snowmobiling, fishing, bowling, but most of all he cherished his time with his family.
Alvin is survived by his daughters, Linda Lane (Mike), Lorie King (Dennis), Pam Atchley (Shane), and Julie Bohling (Troy); brothers, Jack Pfifer (Gilda) and Robert Pfifer; sisters, Loretta Karl, Janice Leser (Larry), and Judith James (Carl). Alvin is further survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and crematory.
