Betty June Kendrick (Peterson), passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, in Eckert, Colorado, at the age of 83, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born on December 21, 1940, in Cedaredge, Colorado, she was the beloved youngest child and only daughter of the late Frank and Anita "Babe" Peterson and cherished wife to the late Rev. Max Kendrick.

Betty graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1959 and furthered her education at Brigham Young University. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a registered nurse, a profession that highlighted her innate compassion and kindness.

Beyond her professional life, Betty was a loving mother and an avid enthusiast of sewing, quilting, and cross-stitch. Her collection of vintage hats was a testament to her unique style and appreciation for fashion. Betty grew up cherishing her summers on the Grand Mesa and once cared for an orphaned black bear, a story she loved to share.

As the devoted wife of the late Rev. Max Kendrick, Betty was an integral part of her community and the Eckert Presbyterian Church, where she supported her husband's ministry. Her home was often filled with laughter and warmth, as she relished in entertaining friends and family.

Betty is survived by her sons, Mike (Susan) Kendrick of Beaverton, OR, Doug (Sonya) Kendrick of Eckert, CO; daughter, Tricia (Aaron) Gorsuch of Show Low, AZ; and grandchildren, Kayla (Levi) Graber, Justine Bird, Jacob Kendrick, Lauren (Chase) Gorsuch, Justin Paul, and Branson Zimmer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Kendrick, her parents, and her brothers, Raymond and Melvin Peterson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Eckert Presbyterian Church. A private inurnment will be held at the Eckert Cemetery. Taylor Funeral Home of Delta, CO, is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to HopeWest, an organization close to Betty's heart. Her legacy of love, care, and creativity will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
