Billy Joe Chick

Billy Joe Chick, age 68, passed away on October 2, 2023.  He was born and raised in Delta, Colorado to Melvin and Helen Chick.

Bill was loved by all who knew him.  The only thing bigger than Bill was his heart.  He was a dedicated and special person.  He worked for the city and retired after 45 years of dedicated work.  His true love was his music starting the band, “The Rounders.”  He played music throughout the western slope for decades.  I’m sure a lot of people danced to the band.  The members of the band were so special to him throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife Paula, and three children, Brandon Chick of Delta, CO, Tara Gonzalez of Delta, CO, and Blane Chick (wife Emilee) of Grand Junction, CO.  Five grandchildren Gabriella Gonzalez, Antonio Chick, Jude Chick, Hope Chick and Mara Chick.  His sister RayeAnn Holland and his “almost” sister Terri Hess.  Uncle Alvin Chick and Aunt Colleen Hannigan.  Step children Kelli Fink and Aaron Buchheim and six step grandchildren.  Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that he dearly loved and too many great friends to count.  We will all miss him very much.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Family, friends, and anyone who wants to celebrate Bill’s life, are invited to Rivers Church Gymnasium 762 Dodge Street, Delta CO; Saturday October 14^th at 12pm.
