Diana Helen Edwards - Short passed away peacefully on Friday July 26th, 2024 at Red Cliffs Post Acute in Grand Junction. She was 94 years old.
Diana was born in Santa Ana, California but lived and went to school in Delta for most of her life, moving to Grand Junction in 1990.
Diana married James Franklin Edwards of Delta in 1948 and was married to James until his death in 1970.
Diana married Floyd Short a few years later. Floyd was also from Delta but living in Denver at the time.
Floyd has also preceded Diana in death.
Diana and James had six children. John Hardy (Rose) of Colorado Springs, James (Jim) Edwards Jr. (Rayleen) of Grand Junction, Danny Scott Edwards (Cynthia) of Grand Junction, Theron (Gene) Edwards (Kris) of Littleton, Co., Brenda Sue Edwards - Wharton from Grand Junction also preceding Diana in death and Maxine Kay Edwards - McNeill of Grand Junction. Diana also had 14 Grand children, 18 Great Grand children and 6 Great Great Grand children.
Diana enjoyed many things in her 94 years in this life but of course none more than her very large family. Her annual birthday gatherings were very special to her and all of our family. Diana also enjoyed watching all the sporting events her many grand children played. Diana was an avid fan of the Colorado Rockies and Colorado Avalanche and tried to see all the games on television. Diana also loved to read and in her later years books had to be large print and she had a special lamp to enable her to continue her passion. She was also somewhat of a gambler (if you call nickel slots gambling) and enjoyed very much her trips to Central City with her daughter-in-law and trips to Laughlin, Nevada with her sister Dorthy.
I remember a couple of things that were funny and used often by our mother when we were growing up.
1. Kids in China would be happy to eat that food!
2. Well, I only like two kinds of music.........Country and Western
If so inclined the family suggests a donation to Mesa County Libraries Foundation.

Diana and all the family was very appreciative of the Grand Junction Libraries efforts to secure books with large print so she could continue to read.
The only service will be a Graveside Service at 1:00 on Saturday August 3rd, 2024 at Delta City Cemetery at 1055 East 3rd Ave. under the direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
