Dudley Lewis Davis Jr.

Dudley Lewis Davis Jr passed away on March 10, 2024 at his home in Eckert, Colorado, surrounded by his family. He was 85 years old.  Services will be held, Friday, March 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm at  the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta, Colorado.

 Dud was born 12-13-1938 to Bette Ann Kralik and Dudley L Davis Sr in Denver, Colorado.

He graduated from North High School in 1958.  He then attended 2 years at Western State College where he met the love of his life, Regina Alexander. They married in Delta, Colorado on June 4, 1960.  They would have celebrated their 64 years of marriage in June, 2024. 

 They made their home in Denver while Dud continued his electrical schooling and apprenticeship for 4 more years.  They lived there for 16 years while raising their family, but in 1976, they moved to Delta to continue raising their children Michael (Michelle) Davis, Teri (Bill) Palmer, Dudley (Alena Holloman) Davis, and Patricia (Mark) Starr.  Dud enjoyed hunting, fishing coaching and playing softball, and golf.  But mostly he loved spending time with their ever growing family.  He was a 32 degree Mason, an El Jebel Shriner, and a member of the Delta Elks.

 In 1991, Dud and Gean moved to Boulder City, Nevada, to continue his electric career working for the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Hoover Dam before retiring after 16 years of service in 2004.  They then moved back to Eckert, Colorado in 2011 to spend the rest of his life with his growing family of 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers-in-law, Richard DeLong and Ralph Mangum.  He is survived by his wife Gean and her sister, Pat Mangum,  sister, Edwina DeLong (CA), children, grandchildren, and 3 nieces, Linda Pewthers, Carol DeLong and Gina Cassel and their families.
