Earl Gilbert Dimmick passed away at the age of 87, on September 14, 2024, in Montrose, CO.
Earl was born on June 11, 1937, to Neil and Mabel Dimmick in Mt. Vernon, WA. He grew up as the middle child of three sons. The family later moved to Humboldt County, CA where Earl attended Arcata Union High School and Humboldt State College. He took great pride in his accomplishments as an athlete in football, basketball, and track and field. He worked as a milkman, and later owned the business with his brother Jim in Arcata, CA.
In 1978, he moved to Hayden, CO to pursue his passion for the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He worked for the Town of Hayden and later for the Hayden Power Plant where he retired as a machinist. He spent his retirement years in Eckert, CO enjoying hunting, fishing, traveling, visiting family and friends, church activities, and playing cards.
Earl’s family was very important to him. He is survived by his Wife Jean Dimmick, Son Kevin (Karyl) Dimmick, Daughters Terri (Terry) Looper and Kelly (Mike) Herring, Grandchildren Kelby (Bonnie) Dimmick, Korbin Dimmick, Jonathan (Dana) Merrill and Jasmine (Joseph) Hammonds, Great-Grandchildren Elise and Eve Dimmick and Zena Merrill, and Step-Children Danny (Cindi) Wright, Carolyn (Jason) Gooley and their families.
He was preceded in death by his Parents Neil and Mabel Dimmick, Brothers Ervin and Jim Dimmick, and Hunting/Fishing Buddies Charles Clinton and Corky Wyman.
