Eldon E. Carlson

September 18, 1933 — August 26, 2024

Delta, Colorado

Eldon E. Carlson was born on September 18, 1933, in Granger, Utah to Daisy Erickson Carlson and John T. Carlson. He passed away on August 26, 2024.

Eldon grew up on his parents’ family farm. They had some livestock, including chickens, milk cows, and pigs. They went through hard times during the depression. Eldon helped with the farm where he could. They grew orchids of fruit trees. Eldon helped with taking care of the trees and harvesting the fruit. In 1964, Elden, his mother, and his sister, Marilyn, moved from Granger, Utah to Paonia, Colorado, where they bought a place with some acreage. When his mother passed away, Eldon settled in Delta, Colorado, and his sister, Marilyn in Saint George, Utah.

Most of the jobs Eldon had consisted of gardening, harvesting, and landscaping. Eldon went to Monroe Elementary School. He didn’t finish school or graduate. He did have an interest in fixing older cars, but never got any formal training in that. Eldon never married or fathered children. He was a loner for the most part, but he had a kind personality and loved the family that he had.

Eldon was preceded in death by his father, John T. Carlson; mother, Daisy Ericson Carlson; half-brother, Johnny Carlson; sisters, Marilyn Carlson Sornsen, and Lillian Carlson, who passed away before her second birthday; and brother, Roland Carlson.

Eldon is survived by his nephew, Roger W. Carlson, and niece, Janet L. Jensen.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
