Hotchkiss resident, Ernest “Lee” Morgan passed away peacefully Friday, December 18, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was 80 years old.
A graveside service will be held 10:00am, Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Crawford, Colorado.
Ernest “Lee” Morgan was born October 11, 1940 to Ernest O. and Gladys E. (Leger) Morgan in Craig, Colorado. He spent his childhood in Wyoming and Colorado and graduated from Crawford High School in 1958. After graduating high school, Lee worked in a mine in Lake City, Colorado and then worked for Mountain Bell telephone company. He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged on November 12, 1965. He continued his employment with the telephone company and retired after 35 years.
On November 12, 1967, Lee married Barbara E. Fobare in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union two children were born. The couple had the honor of sharing 45 years of love and marriage before Barbara passed away in 2013.
Lee was a member of the B.P.O.E. Hotchkiss Lodge #1807. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATV riding, reloading ammo, fly tying, camping, but most of all spending time with his family.
Lee is survived by his children, Brian Morgan and his wife Cindy, Brenda Fraser and her husband Kevin, three grandchildren, Trenna, Ally, and Joe, and one great-granddaughter, Blakely.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Morgan, his parents Ernest and Gladys, and his brother Paul Morgan.
