Floyd Doyle peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Crossroads Assisted Living in Delta, Colorado. He was 83 years old.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 8, at 10:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Service, 682 1725 Road, Delta, Colorado. Following the service, a graveside service will take place at Cedaredge Cemetery, 205 SE Independence Ave, Cedaredge, Colorado.

Floyd Doyle was born on February 28, 1941, in LaJolla, California, to Jessie (Cole) and Everett Doyle. He spent much of his youth moving between California and Colorado. As a freshman in high school, he joined the carpenters union and enrolled in Mesa College’s trade school night classes - becoming a journeyman carpenter before graduating Central High School.

He spent much of his adult life as a construction superintendent moving from job site to job site, changing city skylines, and tackling impossible projects. He was proud of his work, but decided a career change was needed - becoming a long haul truck driver in 1985 as his daughters began having children of their own. He enjoyed camping, four wheeling, snowmobiling, and spending time with his friends and family.

Delta County had always been his home, and he cherished living in the shadow of Grand Mesa. It became his base camp as he traveled and where he eventually retired and lived with his sister Eunice. Life became slower as their trips on mountain passes downshifted to watching deer on the Cedaredge Golf Course and downshifted once more to the exemplary Crossroads Assisted Living facility in Delta. 

Floyd is survived by his sister, Eunice Wilson, daughters Carla, Jannae, and Jeanette, four granddaughters, three grandsons, and nine great-grandkids.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents Jessie (Cole) and Everett Doyle.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends and loved ones to live life to the fullest and laugh when they can.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Services and Crematory.
