Gregory (Greg) Fedler passed away peacefully Saturday, December 10, 2022 at his home, while surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness. Greg was 74 years old, just recently celebrating a birthday. Services will be held Tuesday, December 20th at the 1st Baptist Church in Delta, Colorado.
Greg was born November 29, 1948 to Agnes (Schmalz) and Charles Fedler in Delta, Colorado. He attended school at St. Michaels Catholic School and later Delta public schools. He briefly attended Mesa State College in Grand Junction. Greg spent his entire career farming on California Mesa which included growing numerous crops and raising cattle.
Greg’s true passion was farming, spending time with his family, drinking coffee at C&J’s Café, vacationing in Pismo Beach, California and in his later years working in his garden. Greg was a member of the National Onion Association (NOA), previous board member of the Uncompahgre Valley Water Users Association, member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Elks. He was very active with the Special Olympics and several charitable organizations involved in giving food to those in need. Greg was instrumental in the organization and operation of Share the Harvest food distribution.
Greg is survived by his wife of 48 years Judie, 6 children, Preston (Yvonne) Simmons, Shawn (Dawn) Simmons, Stefvani Wilding, Luke (Angela) Fedler, Arlene Fedler and Cody Fedler, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and his longtime provider and friend Ed Steele.
