Gregory “Greg” Jack Cady, passed away at his home in North Delta on February 19th, 2025, at the age of 48. Born April 11th, 1976, in Burnet, Texas to Laurie Lewis and Jackie “Jack” Joe Cady. Greg moved to Delta in 1979 with his mother, Laurie Lewis, and younger sister, Kristie Timbreza.
Greg graduated from Delta High School in 1994 before beginning his professional career. He earned a certificate in welding and worked at the Doughty Steel and Machine Shop for several years and then spent over two decades as a heavy equipment operator. He was a meticulous individual who brought a high level of precision to every project he completed.
Greg was passionate about mechanics and enjoyed working on a variety of classic vehicles in his free time. As an avid Ford fanatic, he knew Ford vehicles inside and out. He spent endless hours tinkering on vehicles, both his as well as for his friends and family. Whenever car troubles struck his inner circle, he would be the first to leap into action to try to help, whether they broke down on the side of the road, or happened across the junker of their dreams, he was always more than happy to lend a hand.
Greg was an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend, who gave love in all he did.
Greg was preceded in death by his father Jack Cady, of Burnet, Texas and Dad Steven Lewis of Delta, Colorado. He is survived by mother, Laurie Lewis, sister Kristie and brother-in-law Jason Timbreza brothers Travis and Shawn Lewis, best friends Randy Sukle and Josh Sandoval, as well as eight nephews and three nieces. A private ceremony will be held at a later date. The family asks that you respect their privacy during this difficult time.
