Howard D. Head of Paonia, CO passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at the Paonia Care and Rehabilitation Center in Paonia, CO. He was 73 years old.
Private family graveside services will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Crawford, CO with burial to follow the graveside service.
Howard D. Head was born on October 18, 1946 to Walter Louis and Naomi LaVerne (Blankenship) Head in Hotchkiss, CO. He spent his childhood in Crawford CO and graduated from Paonia High School in 1965.
Howard was drafted into the Army and served his country for two years during the Vietnam conflict.
On August 23, 1969 Howard married the love of his life Linda Leneve Maki in Paonia, CO. This August they would have celebrated 51 years of marriage.
He was a member of the non~denominational church. Howard was a member of the N.R.A, and the U. M. W. A.
Howard enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, farming and hiking.
Among survivors is his wife: Linda Head of Paonia, CO; A son: Michael (Karla) Head of Crawford, CO; a daughter: Sherry (Shannon) Long of Paonia, CO; two sisters: Bonnie (Larry) Creamer of Garden City Kansas and Pasty (Bruce) Tullio of Delta, CO; He is also survived by four grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Naomi Head, brothers Harvey, Don and Ted Head.
