Irma G. Garcia

Irma G Garcia passed away, January 19, 2025 at Delta Health Hospital. She was 80 years old.

Irma Graciela Garcia was born on August 7, 1944, in Madera, Chihuahua to Otilia Quintana and Jose De La Luz Garcia. She grew up in Madera and moved to Chicago at the age of 26.

She met the late father of her children, Americo Gomez, while living in Chicago, IL and divorced after 5 years, where she moved to El Paso, TX. She raised her 4 children in El Paso until 1985 and then moved to Colorado where she had another child.

Irma and her kids made their way to Delta County making Delta their home. She has been a resident of the Western Slope for 20 years. She was a tailor/seamstress and did a lot of sewing for Delta PD and the Correctional Facility staff. When not working, she enjoyed working on puzzles, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Irma is survived by her children Jose Gomez, of Granbury , TX, Graciela Smith of Northglenn, CO, Lorena Diaz of Louisville, CO, Angel Gomez of Sarasota, FL and Richard Gomez of Delta, CO her sister Tina Tiscareno and 22 Grandkids, 12 great grandkids.

Irma is preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband; her 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
