Delta, Colo. resident Jerry Blyton passed away at the Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the age of 84.
A graveside service has taken place on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Delta City Cemetery. A Hospice chaplain Annie Grogan will officiate, as well as military honors being presented by Lee Marts V.F.W. Post #3571. Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m., September 4, 2021 at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, Delta.
A memorial service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held in the fall of 2021.
Jerald L. Blyton was born on June 29, 1936 in South Bend, IN the son of Wilbur and Bethel (Wirth) Blyton. Jerry received his schooling in South Bend. Jerry was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having been a staff sargent from November of 1954 until March of 1964. Jerry was an electrical engineer for Anheuser-Busch. On November 26, 1982, in Denver, Jerry married Sally L. Bessler. Jerry and Sally relocated to Delta in 1995. Jerry loved to spend his time gardening, farming, traveling; he loved the mountains & the mountain life, especially at his cabin. Four-wheeling, snowmobiling and hiking were also among his interests.
Among Jerry’s survivors include his wife Sally of Delta; two sons: Barry Blyton of Denver and Brian Whalen of Simi Valley, Calif.; and two daughters: Becky Koop of Madera, Calif. and Brenda McNabb of St. Louis, MO, as well as 7 grandchildren.
