John Stanley Lewis

John Stanley Lewis passed away on August 7, 2024 at the HopeWest Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was 82 years of age. 

John was born on November 29, 1941 in Crawford, Colorado to Ruth May (Templeton) and Robert Faye Lewis. He had five siblings: Donald Lewis, Wanda Kuretich, Glenna Brezonick, Robert Lewis and Charles Lewis, all deceased except Charles who lives in California. John attended school in Paonia. 

John was briefly married to Bobbie James. To this union, three children were born. This marriage ended in divorce. Later John married Ellen Milham, which also ended in divorce. 

John resided all his life in Paonia. He kept the lawn at the American Legion mowed and watered for years. He also worked for NAPA delivering mine parts.

John is survived by his two daughters: Kim Lewis and Kathy (George) Roop, all of Delta; his sister-in-law, Laurene Lewis of Paonia; his nephews: Mike Brezonick and Gary Brezonick; and his nieces: Linda Drake, Christy Hawk and Kendra Gillelan.

As per John’s request, no services will be held. He will be inurned with his son, Donald Lewis, in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
