John James Long

John James Long passed away Saturday, the 23^rd of September 2023 at his home.  He was 50 years old.

A gathering for close family and friends will be held at 1 pm, Sunday, October 1st, 2023 at his residence.

John was born on April 30^th, 1973 in Delta Colorado to Marsha K Long (Scarborough) and Billy Gene Long. He grew up primarily in Paonia Colorado, with a couple of his early teen years in Fruita, Colorado and graduated from Paonia High School in May 1992. He met his wife Aricia while attending Paonia High School and they were married on November 4, 1994. They were together for 34 years and married for almost 29 years. He spent most of his adult life working for Roberts Enterprises in Paonia until his retirement. When not working he enjoyed hunting, softball, short trips, fantasy sports, and special projects around his home. He most enjoyed spending time and making memories with his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife Aricia Long (Prihoda) of Paonia, his daughter Stephanie (husband Mackenzie) Robirds of Austin, Colorado, his great grandmother Ethel Long of Globe, AZ, his parents Bill and Marsha Long of Cedaredge, his brother Barry (wife Rita) Long of Hotchkiss, his nieces, nephews, their spouses and children, and his 2 grandchildren Jason and Sydney Robirds of Austin, CO.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents James Long, John Scarborough, Geraldine Scarborough and his nephew, Logan Long, all of Delta County.
