Jon Anthony Croce

Jon Anthony Croce (69) was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on April 12, 2025, at his home in Cedaredge, CO. Jon was born May 15, 1955, to Leonard Leroy and Faith Howard Croce on Travis Air Force Base, CA.

As a youth, Jon moved around because of his father’s Air Force career. He loved roaming the mountains of Northern California to find new fishing holes. After graduating high school, Jon enlisted in the Army, serving his country for four years (1973-1977).

After the Army, Jon earned degrees in history, education, and Bible. Jon met Marta Marah at Western Bible College (now Colorado Christian University) in 1981. In June 1984, they were married and welcomed Laura and Ethan to their growing family.

Jon held several jobs (candy maker, teacher, baker, etc.) before eventually answering the call to pastoral ministry. After earning a Master of Divinity in Michigan, he became the pastor at Nicodemus Community Church near Siloam Springs, AR, where he and Marta served the Lord faithfully for 16 years. Jon and Marta moved to Cedaredge, CO, in 2016 to care for Marta’s parents. Jon loved the outdoors, he loved to read, and he deeply loved teaching God’s Word.

Jon is survived by his wife Marta of Cedaredge, CO; mother-in-law Gwen Marah of Cedaredge, CO; daughter Laura (J) Reiter of Fruita, CO; son Ethan (Cassie) Croce of Springfield, MO; four grandsons-Caleb and David Croce and Luke and Zane Reiter; sister Bobbie (Steve) Wyrick of Pocatello, ID; brother Lenny (Heidi) Croce of Oak Ridge, TN; brother-in-law Doug (Dawn) Marah of Cedaredge, CO; sister-in-law Mary (Mark) Riem of Cañon City, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Faith Croce and father-in-law Pat Marah.

A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Cedaredge, CO, on April 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Jon will be interred at a later date.
