Josie Lee West was born on August 9, 1941, to Irene Yaeger and Norman Landis in Boulder, Colorado. She moved around due to her father working in the mines. Josie grew up in Pueblo, Colorado. She graduated in 1958 and went on to college for business.
Josie met Billy West and soon got married and moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where Bill worked for Gambles. In 1962, Bill and Josie moved to Delta, Colorado, where they lived many years and opened their own store, West Home Center, which closed in 2013. Josie decided to start her own business in Paonia, Colorado, later known as Radio Shack, which closed in 2015. Josie was very successful.
She loved swimming, church and spending time with friends and family.
Josie is survived by Brandi West, Ezekeal West, Nayeli Sanchez, Dahlila West-Phillips of Paonia, Colorado, Alia Lopes-West, Kylee Dominguez, Ariza Dominguez of Rifle, Colorado; her sister, Margery; brother, Tom Landis of Pueblo, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
Josie is proceeded in death by her husband, Billy West; her sons, Chris and Rick West; her mother and father; and her brother, Joe Landis.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta, Colorado.
