Juanita A. Cogswell, 61, a longtime resident of Delta passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020.
Juanita was born on September 25, 1959 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to the home of Ventura and Lucille Lopez. She was raised and went to school in Santa Rosa.
Juanita worked in several restaurants in Santa Rosa and health care in New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. She put herself through mechanic school as well as cosmetology where she became a cosmetologist.
Juanita owned and operated her own salon in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She also owned and operated her own donut shop. She also worked in construction where she met her husband, Robert Cogswell.
Juanita and Robert married on May 31, 1997 in Delta, Colorado where they made their home and raised her three children together.
Juanita had a big heart and a generous quality. She always went the extra mile to help anyone in need. She had a passion for various crafts and was a jack of all trades. Her favorite pastime was to spend time with her grandchildren and tending to her animals and garden.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law, Dee Cogswell.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Robert Cogswell, a daughter, two sons, three granddaughters, two grandsons, one brother, four sisters, a God son and her father-in-law, Lee Cogswell.
