Karen Kay Anderson

Karen Kay (Earley) Anderson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, following a sudden illness.
A resident of Delta, Karen was born in Collbran, Colorado on November 15, 1957 to Bill and Virginia Earley. She graduated from Plateau Valley High School, Mesa Jr. College and Colorado State University with a major in marketing. This base allowed Karen to become a very independent and business savvy woman.
Karen was an active 10 year 4-H member in Mesa County. She played the saxophone in the high school band, and the piano as a hobby.
Karen and Jim Anderson were married in Palisade, Colorado in 1985, and enjoyed 32 years of marriage before Jim’s death in 2017. Jim and Karen owned and operated Jim’s Outback RV Services in Delta and enjoyed numerous trips to Alaska with family and friends. Karen worked many years at Hi-Quality Fruit and United Marketing in Delta.
Karen loved the Denver Broncos and actively followed the Denver Nuggets. Family and friends knew not to disturb her on game day. Her home reflected her love of the outdoors, Alaska, family, her sport teams and her beloved dogs and cats.
Family dinners were always enjoyed with Karen’s homemade dinner rolls, desserts and at Christmas her famous old-fashion fruitcake, baked from her mother’s family recipe.
Karen is survived by her sister Cleo Rooks, brothers Lance Earley, Nance Earley, Clyde Earley, and numerous nieces, nephews, stepchildren, great nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Viewing will be held at Taylor Funeral Service’s Chapel on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021, from 9:30-10:30 A.M. and graveside services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
In lieu of flowers the family asks friends to please make a gift of love donation to HopeWest in Grand Junction in Karen’s name.
