Lenora Ann Knight passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the Horizons Care Center in Eckert. She was 85 years old.
A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Knight will take place 9 a.m., Monday June 29, 2020, at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia, with Pastor Gaylen Kinser officiating.
Lenora was born on Sept. 4, 1934, at the family home in Atlanta, Kansas, the daughter of Guy W. and Mable Clare (Miller) Williard. She spent her childhood and received her education at Atlanta, KS, and attended the Friends Haviland Academy at Haviland, Kansas. She then entered Wesley Hospital’s nursing program in Wichita, Kansas.
Lenora dedicated her life to being a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior and loving her husband, children and grandchildren. Lenora had been a resident of Paonia, Colorado, since 1958.
On July 31, 1955, Lenora married Hobart J. Knight in Wichita, Kansas. The Knight’s had three children. Lenora’s husband, Hobart passed away on Feb. 9, 2001. Mrs. Knight was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Friends Church in Paonia. She was very active in her church and also in several clubs within the Paonia community. She enjoyed her many friends and sewing quilting, painting and gardening.
Among her survivors is her son, Dr. Denis Knight (Ginna) of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Jaylene Park (Stan) of Paonia, a daughter in law: Kim Knight of Edmond, Oklahoma; and sister, Christine Peters of Winfield, Kansas. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Besides her husband, Lenora was preceded in death by her son Tom.
