Leonard L. Arnett

Delta, Colorado

     Leonard L. Arnett passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his residence in Delta, Colorado. He was 91 years old. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory with a viewing starting at 1:00 pm. 
     He was born on August 30, 1932, to Letha Thompsom and Leonard N. Arnett, in his hometown of Pryor, Oklahoma.  He went to school in Pryor, Oklahoma unit the family moved to near Modesto, California, then to Waterford, CA.  
At the age of 17, he joined the United State Coast Guard in 1951.Duties included traveling in the Pacific Ocean during the Korren war.  On August 3, 1956, He married Audria Arnett in Huntington Park, California. Later moved to Redwood City, California, where he owned and operated his own service station, while raising two sons and a daughter, until February of 1971, when they moved the family to Delta, Colorado. 
      Here in Delta, the family bought a farm and operated the land. He worked for Holly Sugar, Hi-Quality Produce, Creamery Challenge, State of Colorado Correctional, State of Colorado Regional Center where he retired from and continued farming the property were his wife and himself resided until death.
     He enjoyed operating the farm by growing and cultivating the fields for different species of hay.  He loved Fishing, Hunting, and spending time with his family and friends talking about the good old days. 
     He is Survived by  a brothers Jerry Arnett, Port Orchard, WA; Two Sons and Daughter, Chris (Rita) Arnett, Debbie Loy, Kenneth Arnett Sr. all of Delta; Grandkids: Christina (Clay) Peters of Delta, Stan Arnett of Delta, Jeannettie (Dam’n) Hill of Richfield, UT, Jeff (Katie) Loy of Cedaredge, Justin (Michelle) Loy of Grand Junction, Jennifer (Randy) Loy of Eckert, Kenneth Jr. (Nikki) Arnett of Temple Terrace, FL, and a bushel of Great Grandkids. 
     He is preceded in Death by both his parents, his loving wife Audria, Four Brothers: Zeagle Arnett, Ansel Arnett, George W. Arnett, Andy Arnett, Four sitters: Lucille Newcomb, Syble Stout, Florence Isom, and Baby Girl; One Grandson: Kevin Arnett.
