Leora Ann Morris

 Leora A Thomas Morris passed away August 24th, 2024, at her residence in Delta, CO. She was 97 years old. 

Leora was born on February 9th, 1927, to Melvin and Teresa Thomas in Orange, Texas.

 In 1930, the family moved to Colorado. She graduated from Hotchkiss High School in 1945.

Leora married George Morris on May 19th, 1962. He had a younger son whom she adopted.

After graduation, Leora went to Washington DC and worked for the Navy Department. She moved to Delta, CO in 1947 and started working from the firm of Calhoun and Associates Certified Public Accountants and retired in February 2020.

 Leora enjoyed playing bridge, reading, walking, and cooking. Her most cherished moments were spent at family reunions where she was surrounded by good food and a loving family.

 Leora is survived by her son Mike of Delta, CO; sisters Mary Rooks of Salt Lake City, UT; Amy (Gene) Mendicelli of Menifee, CA; sister-in-law Norma Thomas of Hotchkiss, CO; brother-in-law Ray Hachten of Arvada, CO; grandsons Daniel and Matthew Morris of Clifton, CO and many nieces and nephews.

 Leora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Georgia Thomas, Ida Sneath, Martha Hachten, brother William and Jim Thomas and brother-in-law Herb Rooks and Fred Sneath.
