Marco Francisco Garcia

It is with great loss to announce the passing of Marco Francisco Garcia who was born on February 12, 1990, and was laid to rest on December 9, 2023. He is proceeded in death by his Grandparents Eluterio “Rudy” Garcia and Primitiva “Eva” Garcia, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Marco is survived in life by his Mama and Pops Pauline and Ron Applegate, brothers and sisters, Bobby Avila, Josh (Jeni) Applegate, Cody Applegate, Crystal (Walter) Hernandez, Grandma Jewel, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Great Cousins, and many friends. Bestie for life Sabrina.

Marco was born in Grand Junction, CO to Pauline and late JR. He went to school in Delta and graduated high school in 2008. Marco was employed for several years with “Kangaroo Express” delivering prescription medications to nursing homes. He moved on to work for “K&K Concrete” for over nine years. Then following his Pops on a new journey with “10-Point Concrete” in 2021.

Marco was full of life and was fueled by the outdoors especially on the Gunnison River, Confluence, and the Grand Mesa. You could always find him fishing, camping, four wheeling, hunting, skiing, and golfing with family and friends. He always had a passion for anything mechanical especially if it had an engine and would fix anything, since he was young (with assistance from his Pops and Uncles of course), but among all was his pride and joy his truck. He would spend endless hours searching online for upgrades to install on his Ford F-350. 

Throughout the years Marco followed many players through different Sports teams like the Colorado Rockies but one team you know he’d never miss a game for was for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Evan as Marco was laid to rest, he continued to be selfless by being an organ donor. As many of you knew Marco always wanted children of his own but was unable to. Children’s Hospital had a very special child in need and would be receiving Marco’s heart, and we feel this is God’s way of fulfilling that. There was no stranger to Marco, as he would give you the shirt off his back and give every last dollar to anyone in need, especially to his loved ones. We have been blessed by Marco’s presence in our lives and he will always be remembered by us.

We will be holding a Celebration of Life Service for Marco at Taylor Funeral Service Delta Chapel on Saturday, November 9th, 2024, at 2pm.
