On April 15, 2021 the wonderful Lord above reached out to my beloved wife, and our mother, step-mother, sister, aunt, and friend to all Pamela Sue Perdew-Paton and lifted her to be with Him and His Son Jesus Lord and Saviour in heaven and reunited her with her son Wade and her dog and forever “Pardner” Jake. She was 73 years old.
A celebration of life will be held later this year.
Pamela Sue Pederson was born on September 4, 1947 to Stanley Olaf and Phyllis Ann (Furleigh) Pederson in Mason City Iowa. She graduated from Lake Mills High School in Iowa. She went on with her education to obtain an associate’s degree from a junior College.
A member of the Catholic church, Pam retired from the Colorado Department of Corrections as a lieutenant.
On October 29, 1994 Pam married her love for her life, forever and always, John G. Paton in Las Vegas Nevada.
She is an NRA Endowment Life member and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Iowa. Her interests were gardening, camping, fishing, birds, walking, shooting sports, playing word games and puzzles, and critters; she knew every dog in Crawford. She shared her life with John and Jake in the Smith Fork Valley and the North Fork Valley for 26 years.
Among survivors is her husband: John Paton of Crawford, Colorado, two sons: Jason Perdew (Jessica) of Iwakuni, Japan, Spencer Perdew (Tonya), of Des Moines, Iowa; Two step sons: Shane Paton of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Zachary Paton (Camille) of Melissa, Texas, a step daughter: Deana Ratliffe (Gerry) of Colorado Springs Colorado; Five brothers: John Pederson (Cyndi) of Des Moines, Iowa, Steve Pederson (Carol) of Lake Mills, Iowa, Sam Pederson (Jean) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Kevin (Carolyn) Pederson of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Bill (Yevett) Pederson of Gahanna, Ohio; Three sisters: Pat Lucero (Leonard) of Salida, Colorado, Barbara Berry (Tom) of Dillon, Colorado, Rose Marie Moore (Brett) of Lake Mills, Iowa; sixteen grandchildren, 1 great grandchild.
Pam was preceded in death by Pete and Phyllis Pederson her parents and her son, Clayton Wade Perdew.
