Paulette J. Leet

July 11, 1927 — October 21, 2020

Paulette Jeanine Leet died on Wednesday, July 21, 2020. She was 93. Paulette was born to Pierre and Charlotte Berger on July 11, 1927 in St. Foy L'Argentiere, France. Her father was an engineer for an electrical apparatus manufacturer in St. Vallier. Paulette grew up there during the Nazi occupation and in 1944 she graduated from a Catholic boarding school in St. Vallier. Paulette met her true love, a US soldier, Cecil Leet, in October of 1944 and they married a year later. After the war ended Cecil and Paulette lived in Germany for two years helping with reconstruction. Paulette and Cecil then moved to Ft. Belvoir, VA and later to her husband's home in Kentucky. Paulette became a US citizen in 1953. Jobs in Cincinnati, Ohio and San Antonio, Texas required they move their family a number of times before they finally settled in Rockport, Texas where they raised their two daughters, Sonia and Maxine. In later years Paulette and Cecil moved to Galveston and retired there. After Cecil passed away in 2004 Paulette's daughters asked her to join them in Delta, Colorado where she has lived since.
Paulette's daughters, Sonia Scott (husband Steve) and Maxine Behrman (husband Jack), reside in Austin, CO. She also has four grandchildren, Jannine, Alan, Eric and Farrah; and five great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Jackson, Caleb, Madeline and Tapayja. A cousin, Nicole, who lives in France, also survives her. Paulette's only sibling, Christiane Moore, preceded her in death.
Paulette will be interred alongside her beloved husband, Cecil, at Sunnyside Cemetery in Ewing, KY. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
