Austin, Colorado resident, Phyllis A. Johnson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 6, 2020 at her residence. She was 88 years of age.
Phyllis Annette Lawrence was born on March 29, 1932 to Richard and Margaret Lawrence in Gillette, Wyoming. Phyllis spent her childhood in Wyoming then the family moved to Cedaredge where she attended Cedaredge High School.
Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Romie L. Johnson in Delta, Colorado. To this union, seven children were born. They celebrated 68 ½ years of wedded bliss before Romie’s passing in March 2018.
Phyllis was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church and a prior member of the Altar Society, America Needs Fatima, Legion of Mary and the church book club. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and gardening. Most of all, Phyllis’ love was the Rosary.
Phyllis is survived by one son, Jack L. Johnson; six daughters: Suzanne I. (Felix) Jones; Patricia L. Johnson; Theresa M. (Robert) Clair; Anne Christine Miller; Janette L. Hellman and Laura E. (Paul) Anker; one brother, William (Lynda) Lawrence; one sister, Jackie Rule; twenty-one grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
