Rafael Barajas

Rafael Barajas passed away on Monday, December 20th, 2021, at St Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was 59 years old.
Rafael was born on October 17th, 1962, to Maria (Aguilera) and Samuel Barajas in Tejocote de Calera, Mexico. Through his childhood he traveled across the country, having visited a total of 48 states throughout his life.
On February 10th, 1990, He married Maria Medina in Tejocote, Mexico. Rafael’s chosen career was a laborer with agricultural industries. He spent the last 30-40 years in the Delta Area. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a fondness for collecting hats with funny brand names and had even accumulated a large collection of music - spanning through tapes and CDs of his favorite artists. When he could, he liked to spend time with his daughter at coffee shops, trying new coffees and with his sons, they would go enjoy a full day of shopping and nature walks. He liked to garden, watch documentaries about nature, shop and listen to music – he even played guitar! He was a loving husband, father and friend, who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his spouse Maria Barajas, his sons Alex and Emanuel Barajas, his daughter Natalie Barajas, brother Manuel Rodriguez, and four sisters: Guadalupe Barajas, Veronica Aguilara, Adriana Rodriguez and Jasmine Rodriguez.
Rafael was preceded in death by his father and a brother Victoriano Barajas.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Rafael Barajas falleció el lunes 20 de diciembre de 2021 en el Hospital St Mary en Grand Junction, Colorado. Tenía 59 años.
Rafael nació el 17 de octubre de 1962, hijo de María (Aguilera) y Samuel Barajas en Tejocote de Calera, México. A lo largo de su infancia viajó por todo el país, habiendo visitado un total de 48 estados a lo largo de su vida.
El 10 de febrero de 1990 contrae matrimonio con María Medina en Tejocote, México. La carrera elegida por Rafael fue la de obrero de la industria agrícola. Pasó los últimos 30-40 años en el Área del Delta. Disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos. Le gustaba coleccionar sombreros con marcas divertidas e incluso había acumulado una gran colección de música, que abarcaba cintas y CD de sus artistas favoritos. Cuando podía, le gustaba pasar tiempo con su hija en las cafeterías, probando nuevos cafés y con sus hijos, iban a disfrutar de un día completo de compras y paseos por la naturaleza. Le gustaba trabajar en el jardín, ver documentales sobre la naturaleza, comprar y escuchar música, ¡incluso tocaba la guitarra! Fue un amoroso esposo, padre y amigo, a quien extrañaremos profundamente.
Le sobreviven su esposa María Barajas, sus hijos Alex y Emanuel Barajas, su hija Natalie Barajas, su hermano Manuel Rodríguez y cuatro hermanas: Guadalupe Barajas, Verónica Aguilara, Adriana Rodríguez y Jasmine Rodríguez.
Rafael fue precedido en la muerte por su padre y un hermano Victoriano Barajas.
