Our beloved Raphael (Rafe) John Lovato entered into God’s Kingdom on January 13th, 2024. He was with loved ones when he passed. 

Rafe was born to Manuel Lovato and Mary Baier on May 13th, 1985 in Delta, CO. From a young age, Rafe enjoyed airplanes and mechanics of all sorts. Rafe graduated high school from Vista Charter Academy and later on earned his CDL. Rafe was a jack of all trades. He worked in many different fields some of which were: the oil fields, logging, driving big rigs, framing houses, mechanics, welding, among others. Rafe enjoyed many hobbies. He loved spending time with family and friends, flying his RC airplanes, boating, fishing, lighting off fireworks for the 4th of July, and cooking for family and friends. 

Rafe leaves behind many family members: his mother Mary Baier, his father Manuel Lovato, his sister Julia (Erik) Venturini, his brother Matthew (Liz) Lovato, his sister Bria (Jake) Schmalz, his brother Corbin Lovato, his girlfriend Cindy Pool, 11 nieces and nephews, along with his grandmother Theresa Baier and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. At the end of life, Rafe’s love for God grew in a beautiful way that brought much peace and joy to him and his family. Rafe’s hearty laugh, infectious smile, and sense of humor will be greatly missed. The family greatly appreciates any and all prayers through this challenging time. 

Psalm 138 I give you thanks, O LORD! All the kings of the earth will praise you. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. 

A Rosary will be held at 6:30 pm. on Monday, January 22nd at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 628 Meeker Street, Delta, Colorado. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am. on Tuesday, January 23rd at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1855 St. Mary’s Drive, Montrose, Colorado. The Interment will follow the Mass of Christian Burial and will be held at the City of Delta Cemetery,1055 E. 3rd Street, Delta, Colorado.
