Raya Lee Long

March 10, 1963 — January 31, 2025

Austin, Colorado

Raya Leah Long was born in Reno, Nevada on March 10, 1963, to Ray Alvin and Wanda Lee (Lewis) Bellew. Raya passed away on January 31, 2025, at her home in Austin, Colorado surrounded by her loving family.

Raya was the oldest of 8 children in her family. Her family moved to Oregon for her growing up years. She attended school in Oregon and graduated from South Eugene High School, the Axemen.

Raya was baptized on June 21, 1978, in The General Assembly and Church of The Firstborn. Raya worked different jobs from picking beans and strawberries to being a secretary.

Raya married Daniel Roy Long on August 16, 1986. Danny was a Rancher and Raya didn’t grow up in that lifestyle. However, she adjusted well and enjoyed her time on the Ranch. They moved to Cory, Colorado after marriage and lived in the same house until her passing. They lost their first child, Lukas Roy Long on August 20, 1987. On May 15, 1993, their son Cullen Daniel was born and on June 23, 2002, Dustin Ray was born to the union. Raya loved being a mother and was their biggest Fan in every aspect of life. She made excellent chocolate chip cookies, took great photographs and lots of them! She also enjoyed quilting with her church group every Tuesday.

Raya loved spending time with parents and siblings and enjoyed watching her nieces and nephews perform in sports and plays. She loved the cows and spending time irrigating, hauling hay, feeding, and doing various other jobs on the ranch with Danny, his parents, Roy and Lucile Long, her boys, and later her daughters-in-law. Raya will be greatly missed by her family and anyone who knew her.

Raya is survived by her husband, Daniel Long and two sons, Cullen (Kenna) Long and Dustin (Anna) Long, all of Austin, Colorado; her siblings: brother, Doug Bellew of Redmond, Oregon; sister, Kari Bellew of Eugene, Oregon; brother, Ryan (Shelia) Bellew of Beaver, Oklahoma; brother, Curtis (Sara) Bellew of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Rusty (Brandi) Bellew of Austin, Colorado; brother, Scot (Naomi) Bellew of Portland, Oregon; and brother, Paul Bellew of Taiwan.

Raya was preceded in death by her son, Lukas Long; her parents, Ray and Wanda Bellew; her parents-in-law, Roy and Lucile Long; and four special nephews and two special nieces.
