Richard Leigh Brubaker passed away on Wednesday, August 31st, 2022, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was 70 years old.
Services will be held in California at a later date with friends and family.
Richard was born on January 17th, 1952, to Jessie Lee (Harrell) and Ray Elburn Brubaker in California. He spent his childhood in the La Jolla area and later graduated from La Jolla High School. He had a few years in college, finding his niche in the performing arts. He was a founding member and singer for the Roosters.
Richard found his way to the Delta County and Hotchkiss area in 2009. The following year, 2010, in July he and Terri Lynn Colbeth were married.
Richard enjoyed the arts and was a member of Renaissance Fair Groups and the Rocky Mountain Renegades – a Western reenactment group. He enjoyed history, specifically the Civil War; liked wrestling, western movies, photography, but music was his passion. He played guitar, sang and read many biographies of musicians – even collected the books.
Richard is survived by his wife Terri of Hotchkiss, CO; son Evan in Canada; daughters Liz and Kate in Washington; brother Mike (Annette) of MT/OK; and two grandchildren.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents.
