Richard James Eakin

Crawford resident, Richard J. Eakin, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 74 years old.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Crawford, Colorado.
Richard James Eakin was born Oct. 24, 1945 to Emery D. and Eva D. (Bitcon) Eakin in Denver, Colorado. He spent his childhood and attended schools in Englewood, Colorado, attending Englewood and South High Schools. After graduating high school, Richard went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Richard married Sherlyn Lee Mead and to this union three sons were born.
Richard belonged to the American Legion, the VFW, and the Crawford Fire Department. He enjoyed collecting a number of things, fishing and hunting.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sherlyn Eakin; sons, Robert and Ryan Eakin; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
