Robert William Morris
9/25/1937 - 9/11/2023
The Morris family sadly announces the passing of Robert "Bob" Morris unexpectedly, on September 11th, 2023.
Bob was born in Harleysville, PA. Bob married his high-school sweetheart Ann Mary Parkinson in 1958. He served in the US Army as tank driver in 1959-66. He is survived by his two sons Edward W. and Robert Scott Morris. Bob lost Ann in 1995 after 37 years of marriage.
Bob was grandfather to four granddaughters, one grandson, and one great grandson. Bob found love again and married Linda Butler their love lasted 25 years until her passing in 2022.
Bob's love of the West and the outdoors brought the family from Eastern Pennsylvania in, 1972, after hurricane Agnes demolished the family home. A good father, and provider, Bob used his Drexel schooling in construction all over the country. In his later years he became a rancher and care provider.
Bob's passion for reading and American history, especially the old West, made living here come to life for those who knew him. Always easy to get a John Wayne movie quote or a Mark Twain reference, Robert William Morris had 50 + years in the Grand Valley, and Delta area and knew so many of us.
Thank you to all who were his friend. He was a loving husband and father and loved so very much.
We love and miss you, Dad.
Although no date is set for a service celebrating his life, and love of life, is planned in the spring of 2024.
In lieu of flowers please donate to Heirlooms for Hospice, or the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
