Robert Norman Pacheco Sr.

Robert (Bob) Pacheco Sr. went to be with the Lord peacefully at home on April 12th, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones, he was 76 years old.

Bob was born on December 23, 1948 in Kremmling, Colorado to Patrick Pacheco and Francis (Lobato) Pacheco. After growing up in Tabernash, Colorado, he attended high school in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, earning his diploma in 1967.

He was drafted into the Vietnam War shortly after high school graduation and spent a tour there with the unit "128 Guns" as a helicopter gunman. He would later wed Melva Brandt of Granby, Colorado, in 1972. Melissa Pacheco, their first child, was born in 1975. They didn't waste any time in having Patricia (Trish) Pacheco, their second daughter, in 1977. Their last child, Robert (Bobby) Pacheco Jr., was born in 1979.

Bob lost his left leg in a tragic accident when he was just 27 years old, just as he was beginning to raise his family. Even though it was unfortunate, he continued to accomplish things despite losing his leg. He kept supporting his family and enjoying his favorite activities. He would then work at a number of different jobs, such as running a restaurant, operating heavy machinery, and eventually becoming an upholster, from which he would eventually retire.

Regardless of the season, Bob loved fishing when he wasn't working. From ice fishing to simply catching one in the evening on the pond. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family more than anything else. Boating, four-wheeling, and gardening were just a few of his favorite activities that he loved to do. He was always having a great time, cracking jokes and sharing all of his knowledge to those closest to him.

After retiring from work, he moved to the Delta area to be closer to his family. Around the age of 58 he rebuilt a 1965 Pontiac GTO. It was a classic and he loved it. He named it after his combat unit “128 Guns”. He had so much pride and joy taking the car to car shows across Colorado. This was a proud moment in his life, his entire family enjoyed accompanying him and watching him enjoy the moment. Throughout Bobs life he had a total of 7 grandkids and later 4 great grandkids. He will be greatly missed and is a great cornerstone to his family.

He is proceeded in death by both his parents Patrick and Francis Pacheco, niece Yvette Trujillo, grandson Ryan Pacheco and his brother-in-law John Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife, Melva Brandt-Pacheco, children: Melissa Pacheco (Darren Dworsky), Trish Woolley (Benji Woolley), Bobby Pacheco. He is also survived by his grandkids Karisa Pacheco, Mikayla Pacheco, Wyatt Woolley, Whitney Woolley, Izabella Valdez, and Matthew Valdez, as well as 4 great grandkids Addyson Pacheco, Ayden Pacheco, Hadley Dutton and Hazeyn Dutton. A brother Jason Pacheco (Eileen Pacheco) and sister Yvonne Kennedy as well.

Bob did not want a funeral, as everyone who knew him would know. On Saturday, April 26, 2025, his family and friends will hold a Celebration of Life at his house.
