Cedaredge resident, Roger Carlson passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at HopeWest Hospice in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was 78 years old.
Roger Darwin Carlson was born December 15, 1942 to Carl Darwin and Anna Lou (Ely) Carlson in Boulder, Colorado. He attended school in Boulder and graduated from Boulder High in 1961, and went on to further his education at Mesa Jr. College in Grand Junction Colorado.
On November 24, 1963 Roger married Sandra Laine Kunes in Boulder, Colorado. To this union two Sons were born. The couple had the honor of sharing 58 years together before Roger passed.
Roger belonged to the SCVHS organization. His hobbies and interests included volunteering at Pioneer Town, golfing, and travel. He loved enjoying time with his children and grandchildren, his good friends, and his life with his best friend and wife Sandy.
Roger is survived by his wife Sandy Carlson; his sons Kirk D. Carlson (Leslie) of Norman OK and Kevin L. Carlson (Ingrid) of Delta CO; and two Grandsons Aaron and KC.
He was preceded in Death by his parents, Carl and Anna Lou Carlson; in-laws, Les and Marcella Kunes; grandparents; and aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers the family would suggest donations be sent to HopeWest Hospice of Delta at 195 Stafford Lane P.O. Box 24, Delta CO 81416. The Carlson family would like to thank HopeWest care providers and the Grand Junction Hospice Care Center for their loving and kindness throughout this trying time and battle against Vascular Dementia. No services will be held at this time.
