Roger G Morris

Roger G. Morris, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in Delta, Colorado, at the age of 80. Born on August 29, 1944, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Roger lived a life defined by service, integrity, devotion, and love.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he served honorably in Vietnam, exemplifying courage and dedication to his country. His steadfast character and unwavering commitment to duty remained hallmarks of his life. Following the Marine Corps he retired from IBM.

On November 24, 1984, Roger married his loving wife, Gail Morris, and together they shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted father to his children: Geoff Morris, Jennifer Schmidt, Greg Morris, and stepchildren Michelle Alm and Brian Page. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Roger’s legacy of love lives on through his grandchildren, Nichole Morris, John Morris, Kayla Maathuis, Krystina Morris, Derek Malonson, Melia Morris, Tianna Loyd, Joseph Morris, and Jasper Alm, as well as his great-grandchildren, Natalie Maathuis and Maverick Malonson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and June Morris, and his sister, Sandra Donze.

Known for his passion for storytelling, Roger shared his life experiences with those he loved, leaving behind a wealth of cherished memories.

A funeral service to honor Roger’s extraordinary life will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado on January 7th, 2025 at 11am. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate his remarkable legacy, share memories, and pay tribute to a man who touched so many lives.

Roger G. Morris will be deeply missed, but his enduring legacy of love, service, and devotion will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
