Samantha Rae Kennedy

Samantha Rae Kennedy, born April 24, 1977, passed away on the morning of January 10, 2025, after a brave twenty year battle with MS. She was 47. 

She was born in Terre Heute Indiana, to Rebecca Dunbar. She and her two sisters Jillian and Sarah moved to Wellington, Colorado where her mother met and married her step father, Curt Strain in 1983 and then finally settled in Delta, Colorado in 1989. She met her husband Todd Kennedy in high school and they were soon after married on July 22, 1995. They celebrated 30 happy together. 

She and Todd lived on a 40 acre farm in Peach Valley east of the town of Delta, Colorado, where she dedicated her life to raising their three sons, caring for their many farm animals and loving her soul mate, Todd. She had a deep love for all animals, but she especially loved her goats and her Akbash dogs. 

She is survived by her husband Todd Kennedy, their three sons along with two daughters-in-law; Ty (Elena) Kennedy, Tanner (Shayna) Kennedy, and Tegan Kennedy. Also her two sisters Jillian (Sean) Ockerman, Sarah (Troy) Ables, her mother Rebecca Strain and her five grand children Sonya, Kyprian, Kyria, Vera and Cyrus Kennedy. 

Her loss is deeply felt and she will be greatly missed. A celebration of Samantha's life will be held at a later date. The family wishes for privacy at this time, condolences can be left here or on Samantha's facebook page. Thank you.
