Shirley Jean Fulton

     Shirley was born on September 3, 1945 in Paonia, Colorado to Walter and Edna Burnett. She had 3 older brothers, Don, Jim and Ken.   Shirley spent her school years in Naturita, Colorado.

     Shirley married Kenneth Brown on January 6, 1963. They had two daughters, Shellie and Karen. Shirley later married Leland Fulton on August 17, 1972. They had a daughter, Christina. Shirley and the three girls moved back to Paonia in 1980 where she raised her girls. 

     Shirley worked at her father’s restaurant, The Cave Café, and many other restaurants in the valley. Shirley was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering for many things such as the Easter egg hunts in Paonia and the Ute Trail Car Club. Shirley enjoyed Bingo and Bunko, having weekly breakfast with the girls.  She loved spending time with family, especially her great grandbabies.

     Shirley is survived by her children: Shellie Brown of Cedaredge, Karen Rozean of Missoula, Montana and Christina Daniels (Joe White) of Delta, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a brother, Kenneth Burnett of Cedaredge.

     Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three grandchildren, Dustin, Robert and Brandon.

     Shirley’s favorite color was purple. If you have something purple, wear it to her service in her honor.

     Viewing will be held February 1, 2024 from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory in Paonia. Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Paonia Christian Fellowship with burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
