Stanley L. Arnett

December 21, 1984 — January 7, 2025

Delta, Colorado

Stanley L. Arnett passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the young age of 40, after a long and courageous battle with Wilson’s Disease.

Born on December 21, 1984, to Billie Robertson and Christopher Arnett, Stanley grew up in Delta, Colorado and graduated from Delta High School with the Class of 2004. In 2005, he earned an associate’s degree in Auto Body and Paint from Wyoming Technical College. Following his education, he returned to the Western Slope and began his career at Bowie Resource Partners, LLC (Coal Mine), where he worked until 2012, when health complications from Wilson’s Disease forced him to step away.

Despite his diagnosis, Stanley embraced life with resilience and adventure. He traveled the world before returning to Colorado in 2017, where he discovered a new passion for stand-up comedy. Performing under the stage name “The Coppertone Comedian,” he used humor to raise awareness about Wilson’s Disease, bringing laughter to audiences across the Western U.S. until 2021, when his illness progressed. Though the disease took a toll on his body and mind, those who truly knew and loved him never forgot the vibrant spirit of “Stan the Man,” “SuperStan,” and “The Coppertone Comedian.”

Stanley is survived by his beloved grandmother, Georgia Hopper of Hotchkiss; his loving parents, Billie (William) Redd and Christopher (Rita) Arnett, all of Delta; his devoted sisters, Christina (Clay) Peters of Delta and Jeannettie (Dam’n) Hill of Richfield, UT; and his cherished nephews and niece, Dakota and Jeffery Griffith, Kash Hill, and Nicole Murrain. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley and Lois Robertson, Leonard and Audria Arnett, and James Hopper; his uncle, Wesley Robertson; his aunt, Georgia Dutton; and his cousins, Kevin Arnett, Samantha Hopper, and Amberlyn Hopper.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Stanley’s legacy, donations may be made to the Wilson Disease Association to support others battling this condition. Contributions may also be made to Donate Life America, and we encourage you to consider registering as a donor/living donor or making a financial donation.
