Susan Leslie Bolinger

Susan Leslie Bolinger, age 75, from Austin, Colorado passed away August 1st, 2024.

 Born to Shirley Clatterbaugh and Kenneth Clatterbaugh in Jackson, Wyoming on September 16,1948. She grew up through 8th grade in Wilson, Wyoming, where she spent many summer hours on the back of a horse at her dad’s ranch, Crystal Springs. During the winter months, you could find Sue skiing the hills with her best friend, Jennifer (Niffy), jumping on the trampoline, or figuring out ways to get her brother, Bruce, out of snowbanks. Her family moved to Loveland, Colorado at the start of her freshman year of high school. Sue completed education at Loveland High School in 1966 and pursued a bachelor’s degree in physical education at the University of Northern Colorado.

 Sue’s life took a joyful turn in 1970 upon meeting Charles Bolinger, leading to marriage on August 14, 1971. After marriage the two worked together on ranches and enjoyed everything that entailed, and the blessing of two children, named Justin Bolinger and Carrie Bolinger.

After working multiple different types of jobs, Sue retired in 2010. Sue enjoyed spending time with her kids and eventually grandkids, being with the horses, gardening, watching Hallmark movies and rodeos, and mostly just being with Charles. She was always telling her kids “Just wait until you have kids, they will be just like you.” And they are, which isn’t a bad thing.

 Preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Kenneth Clatterbaugh. Sue’s legacy continues through her husband, Charles Bolinger, her children, Justin (Jennifer) and Carrie, her brother, Bruce Clatterbaugh, and grandchildren, Riata, Ty and Dorothy Bolinger.

 A service to celebrate the life of Susan Leslie Bolinger will be held on August 12, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Taylor Funeral Home, located at 682 1725 Road, Delta, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to Fredrich’s Ataxia Research Alliance at curefa.org.
