William Pugh “Bill” ,89, formally from Hillsborough, NJ passed away on January 8, 2022, in Montrose, Colorado at Montage Creek Memory Care.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor of 67 years, daughter Maureen Van Doren, granddaughter Amanda Floyd, grandsons William Pugh IV, Joseph Pugh, and John Pugh, great grandchildren John Floyd, Matthew Floyd and Gavin Pugh, sisters Alma Lehman and Kathy Mariani, brother Donald Pugh, predeceased by Son William “Bill” Pugh III and sister Helen Gallagher.
Born in Old Forge, PA, Bill relocated to Milltown, NJ after graduating high school to pursue a 41-year career with Johnson and Johnson as a production supervisor. He earned certificates from the Lincoln Extension Institute, the New Jersey Department of Labor & Industry Supervisors’ Safety Training Program, the Aetna Safety Training Program and the Textile Worker Union (AFL-CIO) Training Institute. He was also a former member of the U.S. Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in Wayne County, PA.
Bill met his devoted wife Eleanor in Duryea, PA. They raised their family in Edison, NJ and spent most weekends at their vacation home in Galilee, Pa. Bill’s passion was his family, near and far. He and Eleanor were known for throwing large family reunions every Labor Day weekend for decades at their vacation home in Pennsylvania. Another passion was hunting, he looked forward to deer season in Pennsylvania every year. It was a fun vacation time shared with his family and his brothers’. Bill also had a green thumb. He grew a garden large enough to share with friends and neighbors. He and his wife were known to share the fruits of their garden with people they just met. Their generosity is well known.
