Winford Forrest Fowler

Winford Fowler passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Montrose Memorial Hospital in Montrose, Colorado. He was 88 years old.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Garnet Mesa Baptist Church with Rev. Gerry Hillenbrand officiating. Interment will follow in the Olathe Cemetery.
Winford Forrest Fowler was born July 29, 1933 to Wesley Floyd and Alma Joyce (Fattig) Fowler near Tryon, Nebraska. He attended schools in the Sand Hills of Nebraska and graduated from Gandy High School.
He was a welder and rig operator in the oil and gas industry.
On June 3, 1954 Winford married the love of his life, Barbara Eileen Schroeder in Denver, CO and to this union four children were born. This past June they celebrated 67 years of marriage.
He was a member of Garnet Mesa Baptist Church in Delta, CO. He enjoyed being on and working on rigs, coyotes and watching coyotes on his computer.
Among survivors are his wife: Barbara Fowler of Montrose, CO, three sons: Wayne Fowler (Anita) of Kansas City, MO, Wesley E. Fowler (Julie) of San Antonio, TX, Gary L. Flower (Tammy) of Holualoa, HI; a daughter: Susan Croker (Lynn) of Montrose, CO; a brother Fred Fower (Linda) of Tonasket, WA; two sisters: Mariam Schroeder ((Lee) of Gering, NB, and Mabel Grant (Jay) of Montrose, CO; nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
Winford was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Viola Fowler.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
